Mill City Six
“Mill City Six” is a Twin City based "Jump-Blues-Swing Dance Band", under the direction of trumpet player, and vocalist, Daniel Anthony Kuch, performing music from 1904 to the present. Most people agree that Jazz first started with Charles (Buddy) Bolden, "The Father of Jazz"; he started in the early twentieth century with his "Big Four Rhythm". “Mill City Six” plays the first music of Buddy Bolden to a variety of music from Louis Prima - "Jump Jive and Wale", "I Wanna Be Like You" (Disney's Jungle Book), Bobby Troup's "Route 66", and "I'm Just a Gigolo", all the way back to Buddy Bolden. “Mill City Six” also does a nice arrangement of Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher", and will provide you entertainment and educate you about America’s Music -- the music we call “Jazz” – and “Mill City Six” will do their part by introducing you to the "Jump-Blues-Swing Dance Music" and do it in a fun way that will provide you an evening of entertainment!
